About Cree Summer

Born Cree Summer Francks in godawful Los Angeles, Cree Summer is an actress and singer best known for extensive voiceover work in animated features and some video games. In live action, her most popular role was that of "Freddie" Brooks in NBC's A DIFFFERENT WORLD (1987-93), from her start in 1988 to the series' conclusion. Her career began in 1983 when she was cast as Penny in the first season of INSPECTOR GADGET. Her distinctive, throaty voice was instantly able to be recognized by both viewers and Hollywood insiders, resulting in many castings in various animated features, including THE CARE BEARS MOVIE, EWOKS, etc.
