About Alexis Knapp
Alexis Merizalde Knapp (born July 31, 1989 in Avonmore, PA) is a singer/actress, best known for her performance in the musical-comedy film “Pitch Perfect”. She also reprised her role in the film’s two sequels, “Pitch Perfect 2” and “Pitch Perfect 3”.
In 2012, Knapp landed her first major role in the film “Project X” as the Alexis, every boy at the party's buxom fantasy girl. The film follows three friends as they make a play for popularity by throwing a party, only to find things quickly getting out of control. The film is presented in a found footage home video style and was commercially successful, although the lead character’s behavior was criticized, along with the film’s disregard for the effects of drug use. However, the film was viewed as thrilling by many, in spite of a string of large scale party incidents that occurred after the film’s release which led to it being blamed, as these incidents were said to be inspired by the film.
That same year, she was cast as sex-crazed Stacie Conrad, in “Pitch Perfect”, a musical-comedy starring Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, and Rebel Wilson among others. The film follows the story of Barden University’s all-girl a cappella group, the Barden Bellas, in their quest to win a National Championship. The film is loosely based on the non-fiction book “Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate a Cappella Glory”.
Knapp followed by appearing in the series “Super Fun Night”, alongside “Pitch Perfect” co-star Rebel Wilson. However, the sitcom was short-lived, cancelled after one season. She then starred in the Miley Cyrus film, “So Undercover”, as Taylor Jaffe, but it was released theatrically in only 13 countries, not including the US, where it went direct-to-video.
In 2013, she was cast in the sitcom “Ground Floor”, which follows a banker who falls in love with a maintenance supervisor working in the same building. Her character was dropped after the first season, and the show was later cancelled despite positive reviews.
After several other films, she then reprised her role as Stacie Conrad in “Pitch Perfect 2”, released in 2015 with most of the film's other stars returning to their roles. This time the Barden Bellas are competing in a world singing championship. The film garnered positive reviews and was more commercially successful than the original film, making it the highest grossing musical-comedy film of all time, surpassing “School of Rock”.
In 2017 she co-starred in the final film of the series, “Pitch Perfect 3”, the Bellas reuniting for one last performance. The film received mixed reviews, and was the least commercially successful of the triumvirate.
In her personal life, Knapp dated actor Ryan Philippe in 2010. They split up after just a few months, but she soon discovered she was pregnant with his child. Philippe was present during their child’s birth the following year.
Knapp mentioned in an interview that she listens to a lot of rap, with Jay Z among her favorites. She also enjoys classical music. She's also said she's always been a guys’ girl, having grown up with three brothers. Her looks and build likely had a hand in this as well. Man, is she ever stacked.
Like many smokin' hot femininas, Knapp is active in social media. She has an Instagram page on which she posts a lot of personal photos and videos, many featuring her daughter.
