Bridgit Claire Mendler was born on December 18, 1992, in Washington, D.C., and later moved to Mill Valley, California. She began her journey into acting at a young age, participating in local theater productions and eventually hiring an agent at the age of 11. Mendler initially pursued a degree in anthropology at the University of Southern California (USC) but dropped out in 2016. She later enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she completed a Master’s degree in media arts and sciences in 2020. As of 2024, she is also a PhD candidate at MIT’s Center for Constructive Communications and Social Machines group.

Acting Career

Mendler gained fame as a child actress on Disney Channel shows such as “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Good Luck Charlie.” She starred in the Disney Channel film “Lemonade Mouth” and had roles in various other television series, including “Undateable,” “Nashville,” and “Merry Happy Whatever.” Her music career took off with her debut album “Hello My Name Is…” released in 2012, which included hit singles like “Ready or Not” and “Hurricane.”
