Carmen Jordá Buades is a Spanish motor racing driver. From 2015 to 2017, she was a development driver for the Lotus and Renault Sport Formula One teams. Her appointment by Lotus saw her become just the eleventh woman in history to be part of a Formula 1 team's driver line-up.
The supra-accomplished driver, Carmen Jorda, has carved out a place amongst some of the most highly respected racing categories through her sheer passion and dedication.
Jorda has formed part of the prestigious Lotus and Renault teams in Formula 1, earning her the honour of becoming the 11th woman in history to be included in a driver line-up for an F1 team.
In 2017, Carmen was appointed to the FIA Women in Motorsport Comission after a decade-long effort advocating for women’s racing in single-seater and reopening the debate of female drivers in Formula 1.
Racing is in Carmen’s blood; as the daughter of former race car driver, Jose Miguel Jorda, she was immersed in the sport from a young age. She showed an early interest for racing, and received her first kart at just 10 years old.
Carmen has raced in numerous championships as: Spanish Formula 3, European F3 Open, GP3, Indy Lights, Le Mans Series and Renault trophy.
In 2021, Carmen joined the De Tomaso family as a factory Development and Scuderia De Tomaso Racing Driver.
As of November 2024, Carmen has amassed 1.0 million followers on Instagram.
