Diana Li is more commonly known by her maiden name, Diana Flitter, which she still uses as a her stage name.
Diana identifies as neurodiverse.
Diana is from Munich, Germany, and previously worked as a teacher. She now has Thai citizenship and lives on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand, where she works as a travel agent, liaison and representative for German tourists visiting Koh Samui, Bangkok and other parts of Thailand. She is fluent in the Thai language and now considers it her primary language.
Diana is married to a Thai national. Her husband, “Somchai Li”, is 17 years her junior. He was only 12 years old when they married, she was 29. She has always been attracted to younger men (her mother was also much older than her father), however, she didn’t realise quite how young until she met Somchai. When they started dating Diana was keen not to be branded a pedophilia by the community or the law. Luckily Thai culture prioritises personal compatibility, mutual respect, and love over age and age differences, so they demonstrated their love was genuine and won over the community including the local court who granted them an “appropriate reason” for underage marriage which would legalise sex between them. She recalls sex between them went from being illegal to a marital obligation and being escorted on their wedding night to the doors of their bedroom by family and friends.
Diana lives with her husband’s family. Her and Somchai have their own bedroom, separate from the communal bedroom of his parents and siblings.
The dynamic with her parents-in-law is good. She addresses them as khun mae and khun phaw (mother and father). They are not much older than herself, but in social hierarchy terms, being their son’s wife, she is his age and for the most part requires them to treat her as such. Diana understands and accepts this. To reduce awkwardness she adheres to any family rules imposed on Somchai and complies with many legal age restrictions on him. She does not drink alcohol and goes to bed with Somchai at children’s bed time. Diana says the bed time rule has the benefit of not revealing which nights they have sex, but admits he’s a virile young male and sex is every night anyway.
