Holly Body made her debut in porn in 1992. She worked as a waitress in a Mexican restaurant in San Fernando Valley, California, and was recruited by the actor and porn director Rex Hickok (aka Rex Cabo). By this time she was attending Santa Monica College and at the same time also working as a bikini dancer and stripper, primarily at the Wild Goose and Bare Elegance, near LAX, winning the 1993 Miss West Coast Wet T-Shirt contest. Holly Body claimed she never lost a wet t-shirt contest and entered over 50 in her career.

Holly Body was known for her incredible body and G cup boobs and is considered to have one of the greatest bodies in porn history. Her body became so well known and draw while dancing, that she would be introduced while stripping as "The 8th Wonder of the Word, she is known as The Body". She first used the alias Holly "BJ" Morgan in her first films. She was told she should use her stripper moniker to bring attention to her greatest asset, her body. Thinking of names, she thought of the 1980s Brian DePalma film Body Double. "Holly Body" was the porn star character which actress Melanie Griffith played.
