About Katelyn Runck
My name is Katelyn Runck. Embracing a balanced, healthy lifestyle saved my life. We all have a story. I’ve turned mine into my purpose and passion.
I’ve always chased beauty. For a few years, I was a signed fashion model with Factor/Elite Model Management and later moved back home to open a wellness and medical aesthetic skincare clinic. I surrounded myself and my clients with symbols of outward beauty. Even as I shared the latest trends, something was missing, internally.
It took me years (and hard work!) to realize that I wasn’t living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle when I started in runway modeling. I needed to take care of my whole self – my nutrition, my fitness, my spiritual well-being – before I could present my most beautiful me and most importantly help others.
I fell in love with the competition world because of the dedication and strength behind it. I started in NPC Bodybuilding and furthered as a national qualified competitor. I ended up changing federations to the World Beauty Fitness & Fashion show. Surprisingly, November 2017 at my first competition in Miami, I placed in the Fitness Diva category and received my WBFF Fitness Pro Card. I’m now a sponsored athlete and am eligible to compete at the professional level. In 2018 my social media platforms took off, growing over 1 million followers organically in 1 year time which opened so many doors and opportunities for me.
The experience and industry inspired me to return to modeling but this time not as a “skinny agency model” instead pursuing commercial and fitness. I decided to make my move to Los Angeles and now motivate others as a full time influencer, model, and online coach– someone who is healthy and beautiful, inside and most importantly out.
I want to empower others to feel the same confidence and strength that I do.
You don’t have to compete in fitness competitions to benefit from my coaching and mentorship. Fitness and a healthy lifestyle is something you’ll do every day for the rest of your life. Your plan needs to be challenging, but it also needs to be realistic and sustainable. It’s not a diet or fad but a lifelong lifestyle. Whether you want to build muscle or metabolism, gain weight, lose weight, compete in WBFF or NPC – or just feel better about yourself, I can help you reach your goals and make the change.
I received my education through ACE specializing in personal training and nutrition. I also am a licensed yoga instructor (RYT 200) through the Yoga Alliance. More importantly about me, I know what it’s like to experience doubts, struggles, and addiction. The “real” road bumps in life.
I grew up on a farm near Fargo, North Dakota, the youngest of four children. I am extremely close to my family, which kept me close to home and is the reason I started a business there. The upper Midwest is a great place to grow up. The prairies ground me and remind me who I am. I’ll forever be humble because of it.
But it was the period back in high school where it all started, I became restless. I wanted something more, something bigger. I pursued a career as a runway model in Chicago, completing my high school degree online while modeling the latest fashions. I pushed myself to extremes and, in the process, adopted an unhealthy lifestyle. I struggled with an eating disorder and addiction. I looked good in designer clothing, like a hanger but my weight dropped dangerously low maintaining 90lbs at 5’10 and my mental health was at a dangerous place. I ended up hospitalized on numerous accounts whether it was due to heart failure, liver and/or overdose. I suffered relapses. Something needed to change. I wanted to live.
I was admitted for inpatient treatment disorder, and after a long time off and away, I took time to reflect on what I wanted to do next. I wanted to help people. I returned home to the Fargo, North Dakota, region and worked in beauty and skin care while receiving my CNA and Medical Aesthetic license.
Once I finished my education, I was hooked on the beauty and wellness industry. I travelled around the country attending conferences and workshops that promoted beauty through health products and technology. I attended Rocky Mountain Laser College in Denver and National Laser Institute in Scottsdale. Finished in Texas at the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetic and Hollywood Airbrush Academy in California, among many others.
I then opened my own wellness boutique and medical aesthetic clinic, Lifestyle Savvy, in Fargo, ND. My vision was a one-stop facility for all your wellness and beauty needs. For five+ years, I served clients who were seeking wellness products, laser enhancements, chemical peels, facials and more. I devoted my practice to personalizing their beauty experiences and giving them lasting results.
But skin-deep beauty doesn’t last forever. Personally, I realized that I needed to care for my inner self as much as I cared for my outward self. I learned to rebuild my metabolism by balancing my diet with macronutrients – proteins, healthy fats and carbohydrates. My workouts became more focused and intentional. I embraced yoga. For the first time in a decade, I felt healthy and strong – both inside and out (I finally felt free and not a prisoner in my own body!).
You see, taking care of your body is a process. There are no quick fixes to fitness, beauty and health. But if you’re willing to work hard, you can make changes that will lead to strength and confidence within. I’m here to coach you through those moments. My ultimate goal is to help you on your journey as well as sharing mine. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
As of November 2024, Katelyn has amassed 2.4 million followers on her Instagram platform.
