About Katerina Siniakova
Kateřina Siniaková (born 10 May 1996 in Hradec Králové) is a Czech professional tennis player, nine-time Grand Slam champion and the 2018-2023 world number one in doubles. She has spent 115 weeks in four seasons at the top, which ranks her sixth in the WTA historical statistics. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she and Barbora Krejcikova became Olympic champions in women's doubles, winning the first gold medal for the Czech Republic from under five rings in tennis.
She and Krejcikova also triumphed at the French Open 2018 and 2021, Wimbledon 2018 and 2022, the Australian Open 2022 and 2023, as well as the 2021 Women's Masters Tournament. With their title at the US Open 2022, they completed a career Grand Slam, a career Gold Slam, and became the first women's pair in history to complete a career Super Slam. They became the fifth Open Era pair with at least seven Grand Slam titles. As undefeated finalists, they finished runners-up at the 2018 and 2022 Tournament of Champions and at the 2021 Australian Open. They won their eighth doubles Grand Slam with Coco Gauff at the 2024 French Open and their ninth at the Wimbledon follow-up with Taylor Townsend. Katerina Siniakova also won the mixed doubles title together with Tomáš Macháč at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
