About Laurien Dominique
Adult Film Actress. She began acting in adult films at the age of 19 with "Love Lips" (1976), under the stage name of Sharlyn Alexander, as well as in her next film, "The Starlets" (1976). She soon averaged two or three new films a year. A natural brunette, she often died her hair blonde or red in her films. During her seven year long career, she acted under a number of stage names, including Dorothy Newkirk, Lailani, Sharlyn Alexander, and Sharon Alexander. She often played romantic roles in women oriented films, such as her role of a lonely telephone operator in "Fantasy World" (1979), and as Constance Church in "The Ecstasy Girls" (1979). Most casting agents considered her a natural beauty, thin but not skinny, and on the cute side. Directors and producers considered her a master at housewife roles. One of her best roles was thought to be opposite adult film star John Holmes, in "Exhausted" (1981). After seven years in the adult film acting business, she retired in 1983 as her health began to deteriorate from cancer, and she died just three years later after a long struggle with the disease. After her death, she has appeared in a number of films from outtakes and cut footage from her earlier films, including "Only the Best of Women" (1988).
