Minami Aizawa was scouted and recruited in 2016 into the AV industry. Won the Fanza 2019 "Best Actress" award.
In 2023, Aizawa retired from the Japanese AV industry and released a statement detailing how she was originally scouted by a man who would eventually become a mentor and her boyfriend/significant other. Her statement goes on to talk about how her mentor became sick with leukemia in 2019 and would eventually pass away. She states that she thought about retiring then due to this tragic event but opted to stay in the industry a little longer for her fans and those around her. There are other rumors suggesting that she may also have had enough with her agency. Her intention at this time was to remain in the public spotlight through other means.
In August 2024, Aizawa released a statement on Instagram and X (fka Twitter) stating her intention to "retire from all activities under the name 'Minami Aizawa,'" explaining that whatever she did, it was not possible to distance herself from her former career as an AV idol. Her hope is to return "in a different form." As of August 2024, she has removed all TikTok and YouTube videos from her accounts.
As of November 2024, Minami has 987,000 followers on Instagram and 47,500 subscribers on her YouTube platform.
