About Sara Prata
Sara Isabel Duarte Prata is a portuguese actress and former-model who was born on August 9th, 1984, in Setúbal, Portugal.
She was an athlete from Vitória Futebol Clube (Setúbal) where she practiced acrobatic gymnastics.
At age 14, after psychotechnical tests pointed to her ability in Arts, she obtained the representation degree at the Professional Theater School of Cascais, located in Cascais, Lisbon district.
Sara Prata became a model that was part of the artistic training and production agency UniqueStyle (Arroios, Lisbon), when, together with Mariana Monteiro, Fernando Fernandes, Luís Lourenço and Miguel Bugalho, was recruited by the production company NBP, training in representation, to integrate the third season of the TV series "Morangos com Açúcar", previously broadcast between September 2005 and September 2006 in TVI.
In 2010, Sara returned to the theater' stages by participating in the play "The Walls of Elsinore", directed by Hugo Barreiros, and with the performance of Marco Medeiros, by the Teatro Experimental de Cascais (TEC). This interpretation earned him the "Revelation" award at the Santareno Theater Awards 2010, from the Bernardo Santareno Institute (IBS), along with Graciano Dias.
In 2011, she starred alongside José Carlos Pereira, a four chapters' TV miniseries and romantic comedy "O Amor é um Sonho".
For this interpretation Sara was one of the nominees, in April 2012, in the category of "Best TV Series Actress" of the 2011 TV 7 Dias awards.
In 2015, she won the third season of the talent show "Dança Com as Estrelas", after replacing Laura Figueiredo who was injured.
After being second in the MasterChef Celebrities cooking program, Sara launched and published, in 2017, a cookbook titled "Prata, Pratinha, Pratão".
In the movies, in 2017, Sara participated in the film "Alguém Como Eu", directed by Leonel Vieira, and starring Brazilian actress Paolla Oliveira and Ricardo Pereira.
After the portuguese telenovela "A Única Mulher" (2015), in 2017, it was announced by the production company Plural Entertainment (formerly known as NBP) that Sara Prata would return to portuguese national drama projects of TVI, playing the protagonist of the telenovela "Jogo Duplo", also previously broadcast on TVI, between 2017 and 2018.
