If you didn’t know already, OnlyFans is a social platform like Patreon, which provides content on a paid subscription basis. The only and main difference from Patreon is that OnlyFans focuses on the erotic content creators.
Three days ago, on Thursday, February 27, multiple sources claimed that the website suffered from a “cyber hack,” resulting in about 1,6TB of predominantly adult videos leaked. Hundreds of performers confirmed they found their paid-for videos throughout the internet. Meanwhile, OnlyFans states they don’t see any breaches in the system.
It’s possible indeed that there was not any leak per se, but the mentioned above 1,6TB package of content consists of data compiled by numerous users paying and downloading the videos. Then this data spreads via various data clouds.
Performers who suffered from this include Youtube and TikTok stars, Instagram models, amateur, and professional porn stars. All of whom are using OnlyFans to make money from producing adult videos. “This is paid for private content that we own,” OnlyFans content creator and porn star Jewels Jade is saying, “This is illegal and a violation of our rights.”
“Our online content should be protected just as any other performer would be in any other industry,” also says Dee Siren, a porn star from the United States.
Still, a vast and terabyte-worth package of content is circulating the internet right now.
