Chrissy Amphlett was an Australian musician. Best known as the lead vocalist for the rock/new wave band, Divinyls. The band was formed in Sydney, Australia in 1980. The band’s most successful song was their 1990 hit, “I Touch Myself”. It reached No.1 in Australia, No. 4 in The U.S. and No. 10 in The U.K..
Chrissy was also an occasional actress. She appeared in the musical comedy, “Let My People Come” (1976) and the musical, “Blood Brothers” (1988). She also portrayed Judy Garland in several Australian productions of the musical, “The Boy From Oz”. She also played a supporting role in the 1982 film, “Monkey Business”.
She passed away, on April 21, 2013, after a long battle with breast cancer.
