Eve Southern was born on August 23, 1898 in Ranger, Texas, USA. She was an actress, known for Clothes Make the Woman (1928), Morocco (1930) and The Gaucho (1927). She was married to Robert F. Shepherd. She died on November 29, 1972 in Santa Monica, California, USA.
Sultry brunette silent screen leading lady, born Elva McDowell. She was discovered for films by D.W. Griffith who cast her as an extra in Intolerance (1916). After the end of her acting career, she worked as a retoucher in the photography department of a Hollywood studio.
She retired from films soon after suffering a broken back as the result of a car accident.
Believed in reincarnation and spiritualism and at one time claimed to have been Mary Queen of Scots in a previous life.
