About Mia Kang
Mia Kang is a professional model, mixed martial artist, and a retired commodities trader. She has more than 230,000 followers on her official Instagram page, and has signed with several modeling agencies, including the prestigious MP Management, and Wilhelmina Models, among others.
Mia was born on the 30th December 1988, in Hong Kong, and is of Korean and British ancestry. Mia attended the University of Bristol after finishing Island School in Hong Kong, from which she obtained degrees in philosophy and economics, while she finished her master’s degree in finance and financial law at the School of Oriental and African Studies, located in London.
Mia’s career started when she was only 13 years old; she was overweight before she hit her teen years, but as she started dancing lessons, her weight steadily decreased. On the advice of her dance teacher, she signed up for a modeling gig, and her career began. After a few successful modeling gigs as a teenager, she started modeling for several high-profile magazines, including Elle and Harper’s Bazaar Hong Kong editions. Gradually she was becoming more popular, and so started her Instagram page and began sharing her career endeavors. From one photo session to another, Mia was boosting her popularity, which resulted in contracts with noted modeling agencies.
As she was putting herself more into the modeling world, Mia’s success was increasing, but she succumbed to all the pressure and needed some time off. Nevertheless, in 2017 she reached stardom when she appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. After this, she went to Thailand to take a break from all the glitz and glamour, and discovered her love for Muay Thai mixed martial art, and began her journey to becoming a Muay Thai fighter.
Her debut in the MMA was rather successful as she defeated Nong B, after which she signed a deal with First Round management and started training under Malki Kawa. Thanks to her newfound love of a sport, Mia was revealed of her stress and has continued both her modeling and mixed martial arts career. Since then, she has collaborated with Levi’s, Triumph, and Hut, among others, and is now looking for her next fight. Her popularity on Instagram also soared, as she now has more than 230,000 followers.
Mia is currently single but back in 2016, she was in a relationship with a guy named Will Estes.
