About Sharry Konopski

In 1987, Sharry Konopski had her fling in the limelight. As Playboy magazine's Miss August, she was hosted at Hugh Hefner's mansion. At home in Longview, dozens of admirers lined up to have the 5-foot-2, 19-year-old blonde sign her autograph across her centerfold.

"Playboy's in the past. I did my dream," said Sharry Konopski DeBolt, 27, now married and the mother of two - Spencer, 6, and Siera, 4. "My first dream was to be a model. I had that experience. I would have regretted it if I hadn't done it. I think it was a great experience. I'm preserved in stone."

In the early-morning hours of April 1st 1995, while driving on Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, she tried to avoid three deer. Her car left the road and flipped. She broke two vertebrae and several ribs and punctured her lung. Sharry was left a paraplegic. A resident of Silverlake, Cowlitz County, has steel rods in her back, cannot control her bladder and faces a life of permanent paralysis from the waist down. Nevertheless, she continued to model, and also appeared in videos geared towards "devotees" of paraplegics and amputees, she posed again for Playboy in March 1997.

Sharry died on August 25, 2017 from complications from pneumonia. She was 49.

Just to be clear: Sharry was driving home in her Mustang when three deer ran out in front of her. (A life lesson is: Hit the deer and pray for them. Maybe that's what she did, but the typical response is to slam on brakes and steer away to avoid hurting Bambi.) Regardless, her car rolled and she was paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of her shortened life. That was in 1995 when she was 27 years old. She lived to be 49.

As you can see, she was gorgeous! At 5' 2" and with an exceptionally lovely "rack" it was almost natural that she would become a Playmate of the Month.

Get a firm grip on the steering wheel, brake as best you can, close your eyes to avoid glass slivers, and mow them down! They're in the woods making replacements all the time! Try to preserve your life and those of your passengers. Please!

I've hit several deer over the years that way.
I walked away fine. My car could even be fixed each time I believe.
One reason I don't like Mustangs either. Good luck if you're in a wreck. Sad her life ended that way.
Just ten seconds either way probably could have avoided it.

Yes, life did not treat her well at all. At her height, she was a short, luscious bundle of curves made to be displayed for the pleasure of males and to submit completely.
