Adriana was one of the most successful models in Brazil at the end of the 1980s. A sensation on the covers and editorials of the most important national magazines of the time, she even appeared on the list of the ten most beautiful women on the planet in 1989, after her classification in the world final of the Supermodel of the World, held in Los Angeles in the United States.
In 1985, at the age of fifteen, Adriana was drawn at a neighborhood party and received a mannequin course as a prize. Although she was not so excited about this career, encouraged by her brother, she looks for a modeling agency a year later and takes her first unpretentious photos.Hired by L'equipe Agence, Adriana began to be called to do small fashion shows and catalogs, including a Christmas campaign for Mesbla stores and the cover of Carícia magazine, until then her greatest works.
At the age of eighteen and with the profile of a photographic and catwalk model, by virtue of having an indistinctly photogenic body and face, the «Cinderella of Santo André», as she would come to be known, is then invited to be part of the casting of the modeling agency Class, in São Paulo, one of the most renowned at the time in Brazil, affiliated with the American Ford Models. In a short time, her schedule already has an average of twenty-five contracts per month, making her the most requested model
Her career was consolidated in June 1989, when she defeated seven thousand other competitors and won first place in the Brazilian stage of the Supermodel of the World contest. In August of the same year, she competed in the world final in Los Angeles and was among the ten finalists.
At the end of 1989, with only two years of work and already elevated to the category of top model, she is included in a list of the ten most successful models on the planet that year. Weeks before her death, in January 1990, the model was scheduled to travel to Germany and had posed for four international magazines — two American and two Canadian.
The model died after ingesting a cocktail of drugs, alcohol and tranquilizers with friends on a farm in the interior of Minas Gerais, in one of the cases with the greatest media repercussion ever occurred in Brazil involving drug use.
