This is because back then still,everyday women from small towns often, home bred and beautiful, wanted to be in a tasteful magazine,to further their career as actresses or models later, this was a jumping off point.This stopped being the case when the internet became a thing in the 90s increasingly and playboy no longer was useful or helpful in guaranteeing opportunities like they did for Pamela Anderson or Anna-Nicole Smith or others in the 90s. And the photoshoots in the 90s became too vulgar and nasty for most beautiful refined delicate women, and increasingly the only ones who went into playboy or penthouse were women like those going into Hustler or even porn...just to show off for likes and attention and social clout, and who could not get attention otherwise due to being average at best,even with fake tits for most of them.
