About Kerly Ruiz
Kerly de Jesús Ruiz López (Caracas, October 6, 1985) is a Venezuelan presenter, entertainer, model, actress known for having been the host of the programs Ají Picante on RCTV, Labomba on Televen and the magazine Portada's on Venevisión.
Kerly Ruiz was born in Caracas, lived in Quinta Crespo and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Humanities from Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria School.
He studied dance, music and modeling, and at the age of 7 he joined the children's program Hay Que Oír a Los Ninos, broadcast by RCTV and hosted by Nelson Bustamante.
At the age of 20 she represented Venezuela in the international competitions Miss Maja Internacional (held in Cartagena, Colombia) and Miss Hawaiian Tropic 2006 (in Las Vegas, Nevada), winning the title of second runner-up in the latter. During that same time, she moved to Los Angeles, where he studied English and also had the opportunity to be the image of the Lakers, a professional basketball team.
He began having special participations in soap operas such as: Negra Consentida, Trapos Íntimos, Juana La Virgen and Mi Gorda Bella. Although her career took off when she became an entertainer for Ají Picante, where she was a sexy reporter who got involved in Venezuelan rumbas.
In 2007, Televen hired her, first working as host of Rompe Coco Turbo, then as anchor of the entertainment segment "Lo actual" on El noticiero and, in 2008, she became host of La Bomba, a program with which she generated more of a controversy, thus gaining the attention of the entire Venezuela until his departure in 2011.
In 2012, he joined Venevisión to participate in the entertainment segment called “Tácata” in the magazine Portada's3 and also obtained a supporting role in the soap opera Mi ex me tiene gusto where he played Kristell Manzano, a character who ends up being murdered by the murderer of the novel and, in addition, Ruiz made cameos as herself in the soap opera Natalia del Mar.
After being the host of the "Tácata" segment, in 2013 she became an official presenter on the Portada's4 program and, at the same time, she is in charge of hosting the broadcasts of events such as Miss World, Premios Juventud, Premios Grammy and Lo Nuestro Awards for that channel.
She is also the presenter of the Official Press Presentation of the candidates for Miss Venezuela since the 2013 edition,5 for Miss Venezuela World since 2014,6 and Mister Venezuela7 since 2014.
It should be noted that, along with her work on the morning program Portada's, Kerly Ruiz also played the character of "Suma Tramoyera" there for the section "El Calabozo" where, along with Senilda (Mariela Celis) and several entertainment journalists, talked about the most notorious scandals of the moment.
In February 2018, Kerly Ruiz resigned from Venevisión to move to the United States after accepting a job offer from the digital channel FeedLatino, based in Miami, to host the program Simply Kerly8 but, shortly after, she began working on the channel. El Venezolano TV where she currently works as a presenter of the entertainment program Chic Al Día.9 In 2021 she is hired by the Telemundo channel as a new presenter.
