She is the on-screen general manager of NXT. Johnson is a fourth-generation wrestler and is a member of the Anoaʻi family of Samoan wrestlers.

Johnson is the daughter of actor and professional wrestler, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and his first wife, film producer Dany Garcia. She is of African and Samoan descent on her father's side, and Cuban descent on her mother's side.
