Adriana Cecilia Tarud Durán (Barranquilla, Colombia; September 10, 1982) is a former Colombian beauty pageant participant and industrial engineer.
Adriana was crowned Miss Colombia 2004 on November 15, 2004 by her predecessor Catherine Daza Miss Colombia 2003 in the city of Cartagena de Indias.12
She was born on September 10, 1982 in Barranquilla, department of Atlántico. Her parents are Pablo Tarud Jaar and Cecilia Durán de Tarud, both of Arab and Lebanese descent. She has two brothers, Pablo Andrés and Daniel. Her grandfather was the former minister; Argelino Durán Quintero, who was murdered by the guerrilla, is the cousin of the singer Shakira. She studied at the University of Miami thanks to a scholarship she obtained for good academic performance, from where she graduated as an Industrial Engineer with a subspecialization in Economics and Business Administration.
Tarud is fluent in English and belongs to the Society of Hispanic Engineers
In 2004 she participated in Miss Colombia as a representative of her department, Atlántico. That day she was elected Miss Colombia 2004. Adriana Cecilia Tarud won, in addition to the title of Miss Colombia, two more awards: Best Figure and Best Fantasy Costume.
In May 2005 she traveled to Bangkok-Thailand to participate in the Miss Universe where she did not obtain a place.
A few months later in the city of Cartagena de Indias, Department of Bolívar, she crowned her cousin Valerie Domínguez Tarud, who was the representative of the Department of Atlántico and Miss Colombia 2005, as her successor.
