About Catia Pedrosa
Catia was a Brazilian actress and model, the first representative of Rio de Janeiro to be elected Miss Brazil World, in 1983.
Before participating in Miss Brazil World, Cátia was elected, in 1979, Garota Carinho in a vote promoted by the magazine Jovem published by Bloch Editores and The Most Beautiful Student in Rio de Janeiro of 1982.
Her performance at Miss World made her a place in the top fifteen in the world, placing third in the final ranking. Having represented Brazil, she was also elected Miss Personality.
After making her successor, Cátia remained available to SBT programs, including the humorous A Praça É Nossa.
In June 1988, she was on the cover of Playboy magazine and became the first former beauty queen to pose nude for a men's publication after Vera_Fischer.
She worked as a theatrical entrepreneur in the "Projeto Escola & Teatro Infantil" (1992-1996).
Cátia was married for a year to presenter Wagner Montes with whom she had her only child
Cátia had been struggling for many years with depression, panic syndrome and anorexia, where she attempted suicide nine times, needing to attend psychotherapy for a while. He died on March 20, 2018, at the age of 55, due to colorectal cancer, which started in the abdomen
