In 1982, Josi Campos was model for haute couture designers at TV Mulher program.
In 1983, she tried to be Miss Rio Grande do Sul, in 1986, she was a finalist in Miss São Paulo and in the same year, she was in third place in Miss Brazil "International Beauty", with the sash of Miss Minas Gerais.
She lived in Rio de Janeiro in 1987, won the disputed contest Girl from Ipanema and paraded in the following years for Mangueira, Portela and União da Ilha in the Rio carnival.
She did several nude photoshoots for men's magazines, was 2-times cover of Ele Ela Mag. in September 1986 and July 1989, and once of Playboy in November 1987.
She worked on television, with emphasis on the controversial Caso Especial: Garota da capa, directed by Walter Avancini in 1988 besides Josi has 3 movies in her curriculum from 1988 to 1990.

In 2014, it was reported that she suffered from schizophrenia and had started living in a specialized clinic in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul.
