On 13 November 2017, Janet Lupo passed away in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Janet Paula Lupo was best known for being one of the largest breasted Playboy Playmates in history. In April 1974, Lupo became a Playboy Bunny at Playboy's Great Gorge Resort hotel in McAfee, New Jersey. After working for several months, Lupo was approached by several photographers to pose for Playboy's Playmate of the Month. At the first, Lupo rejected the opportunity.

In March 1975, Lupo was given another Playmate opportunity by photographer Pompeo Posar. Lupo agreed and became Playmate of the Month for November 1975. Lupo's family had mixed reactions to her posing in Playboy magazine. Right away, Lupo began traveling and promoting Playboy around the United States, Canada and Japan. After the promotions, Lupo began working as a bartender in her friend's husband's restaurant.

In the early 1980's, Lupo tried to comeback to the Playboy business, and posed for some Playmate reunion pictorials. In 1998, Lupo tried another comeback, when she created her own website and, at age 48, resumed nude posing. Lupo later appeared at Glamourcon conventions in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Although she is sometimes touted as the "biggest boobed Playmate" (see list of magazine appearances below, she was introduced as "the bustiest Playmate" in Japan Playmate photo book "Playmates 312".), that distinction is perhaps best accredited, based on data published by Playboy, to Rosemarie Hillcrest, Miss October 1964, whose measurements were 41"-25"-38" at the time of her pictorial. However bust size measurements are notoriously inconsistent and difficult to compare ("like comparing cantaloupes to coconuts"), so breast fetishists may never have a conclusive answer to this conundrum. She is still considered one of the most famous, and most beautiful of all the big-breasted women who have ever posed for Playboy over the years. She has often been compared to Petra Verkaik, Miss December 1989.

In January 1977, Lupo moved to Key Biscayne, Florida, where she worked as a flight attendent. According to Lupo, once the other flight attendants found out that she was a Playmate, they began to harass her. They lost their jobs and the airline went out of business.

In 1981, Lupo moved back to New Jersey and got a Real Estate License. In 1986, Lupo became a cosmetologist. On August 20, 1986, Lupo gave birth to her son at 36 years old.
